After dominating the conversation surrounding AI in the smartphone space with Galaxy AI on flagship Galaxy smartphones, Samsung is ready to bring mid-range devices into the fold.Summarize in one-click with Galaxy AI

Samsung revealed that select mid-range Galaxy phones and tablets will get a taste of the AI experience. To be more precise, those devices will get Circle to Search. It's a feature that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning, but it is developed by Google and isn't exclusive to Samsung devices.

Still, it marks an important milestone in Samsung's goal to make the power of AI available to as many consumers as possible. It suggests that the company will eventually bring some proper Galaxy AI features to more affordable devices.

Mid-range Galaxy devices that support Circle to Search

Circle to Search is just the starting point, and it is currently slated to arrive on the following mid-range devices:

Samsung will bring Circle to Search to the phones listed above with a software update in August. The tablets will get the feature later, likely because Circle to Search will be part of the One UI 6.1.1 update, which will bring additional features to several Samsung tablets and foldables.

What is Circle to Search?

As Google describes it, Circle to Search is a new way to search anything on your phone with a simple gesture without switching apps. Using Circle to Search, users can circle or highlight any text or image on the display to run a Google search on it. It can also identify music played on or near a device.

Circle to Search replaces Google Assistant, so it can be brought up by long-pressing the home button without moving away from any app you may be using. Assistant is still available for more traditional searches. However, it is accessed by swiping in from the bottom corner of the screen once Circle to Search is installed on a device.
